One Book Program – Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS)

One World, Many Stories

The BCCLS consortium announces a one book program across the four counties it serves in recognition of LGBTQ history month. Residents are invited to read the incredible biography of Putsata Reang – Ma and Me.

Materials at public libraries are increasingly under challenge with an emphasis on materials that chronicle LGBTQ topics. The one book program offers residents the chance to read about one such life in an effort to increase understanding for all.

As author Malori Blackman said, “Reading is an exercise of empathy; an exercise in walking in someone’s shoes for a while.”
