BCCLS Trustees Committee Meeting Minutes

10/3/2019 10:15 AM

Mahwah Public Library

Present: Darlene Swistock, Lynn Kloss, Jenifer May, Tom Madru, Peter Wendrychowicz, Mike Banick, Larry Bergmann

There were no minutes of September 10th to approve.

We solidified our program for December 5th from 6:00 to 8:30 at Mahwah. It will be called “Hot Topics for Trustees: Working with the Community, Relationships, Legislation and more”.

There will be a Meet and Greet plus registration from 6:00 to 6:30 in the Winter Room.

There will be three groups, each lasting 15 minutes, with the participants moving from room to room in a sequence determined by the color coded cards they will be given at registration. These rooms are downstairs. Darlene will produce the color coded cards.

There will be a final group meeting in the Winter Room with all participants attending at approximately 7:30. This meeting will be a round table discussion featuring topics which participants have provided with their registration forms. We will vet these topics during the three programs to determine the best topics to discuss. We plan on this being approximately 30 minutes in length.

Peter will coordinate getting the rooms arranged.

We will advertise the program by sending a flyer to all Directors for them to forward to their Trustees and Friends. Darlene will look into whether we can make use of Constant Contact.

Darlene will ask Patty Durso if she can do a program for us.

We will have banners and directional and room identification signage.

There will be refreshments available. We will have cookies, cheese and crackers, small fruit container, decaf coffee, tea and water. We will use the remainder of our Gift Card from Wegman’s. Additionally, Tom will contact Shop Rite and Peter will speak to Stew Lenard’s to request a donation.

We will provide speaker’s email addresses and any appropriate web sites. Peter and Kurt might have printed materials concerning the Mahwah referendum on the November 5th ballot.

Next meeting will be Tuesday October 29th, 10:15 AM at the BCCLS office in Fair Lawn

Respectfully submitted by Tom Madru
